What is IC?
Ilitch Charities is a non-profit organization that invests in our community's future by supporting innovative, collaborative and measurable programs in the areas of community development, human services, education and recreation through contributions from the Ilitch companies, their colleagues and the generosity of others. Ilitch Charities grants have recently been awarded to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, 2-1-1 On the Go! Focus: HOPE, Mosaic Youth Theatre, C.O.T.S. (Coalition on Temporary Shelter), the Junior Achievement Finance Park in Detroit, the Greening of Detroit, the Guidance Center, and Special Olympics of Michigan. Ilitch Charities also supports the Little Caesars AAA Hockey program and the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League through the establishment of an annual scholarship program.
How can I help?
IC hosts a variety of fundraising events throughout the year to raise money that we in turn contribute back to the community. Recent events have included the Ilitch Charities Celebrity Golf Classic on August 31, 2009 at Oakland Hills Country Club and the One Team, One Community Gala on August 29, 2009 at Sound Board inside the MotorCity Casino Hotel. Past events include the Champions' Challenge charity softball game, Oscar Night America, and Ride for the Team.
